After the completion of the preliminaries (i.e., the competitions), it seemd like it would be just a simple matter to tally the judges' scores. Easy math, you might think, as moi did. So moi settled back in anticipation of a couple more minutes of witty banter from Tita Aida before finding out the winners of special awards and the 12 girls who would move on to the next round.

After ten minutes of improvised repartee, Tita was asked to "stretch" her presentation a little to accommodate a delay in the tally

Duct tape jokes can only take even Tita Aida so far, and after about 30 more minutes, she was looking somewhat desperate. So much so that she even gave moi, sitting in the audience, a plug for moi's little website - now THAT'S desperate

Aaaanyway, after what seemed like the longest time (perhaps because it WAS the longest time), they got to start giving out the special awards

Nicole was named Miss Friendliest or some such, took her award in style, then POSED

Kesa, Tuesday and Nicki also won awards (and POSED)

What's her name (moi is blanking on it)

Oh yes, Angela, won for Miss Audience Favorite (no surprise there) but no one seemed to give her her award. Awwww.

Well, after that, the special awardees all POSED together (Andrea finally got her trophy, moi notes)

Then, after a further flurry of arithmeticising, the twelve finalists were announced by a mightily relieved Tita Aida

Well, by this time, Moni and moi were starving so we left to go eat Thai food, leaving the Q&A session unrecorded, but moi can report the winners were (drum roll, please):
